“I’ll have you know,” she said, rearranging the lumps until they were just so, “that these cookies are made with whole grains, high in fiber, full of nature dried fruits, and sweetened with a touch of honey. I made them myself, so I know they’re good for him. Unlike the store-bought stuff you’ve been giving him.”
Sage had given DeeDee the idea, based on the Easter treat she was retooling for the fashion show, a white-chocolate bark dotted with homemade mini-eggs coated in a multitude of pastel colors.

One table was stacked with food, tiny crust-less sandwiches and pastries from the bakery, platters of colorful fruit and cheese, an obscene assortment of Sage’s chocolate, of course, and an enormous cake with still more good wishes written in frosting.
