Before her was a full tea service: teapot, cups, saucers, milk and sugar, and a three-tiered display of little cakes and sandwiches.

She added the milk, plopped two sugar cubes into the drink with the aid of a pair of silver tongs, and passed it over to him.

"Gaseous carp. They smell and taste like rotten eggs. They are fantastic. Would you like to try?" Tobias held up a small flaky pastry and Sebastian shook his head.
