Once again with another unusual set of dates listed as seen as above, LOL. As usual, I'm going to be completely honest here: since 2016/05/06, the date this post was set to be published on, is just half a year short of being "A DECADE AGO" as of the time (2025/11/24) I finally penned this, I think it's reasonable for me to not remember all the exact details of why I did what, LMAO. I can however share some fun facts: I registered my Goodreads account on 2015/05/06 (exactly a year prior to, you know, that set day), though it doesn't seem to be the only reason. I distinctively remember feeling inconvenienced by the lack of a Wikipedia list page for "social networking platforms for books", and I recall the announcement for Shelfari merger and the talks about Litsy, which likely prompted me to search for the non-existing Wikipedia page; both incidents indeed happened in 2016.

The "elsewhere" is actually an html file, first created on 2020/02/22, I use Dreamweaver to edit, since the preview function of the blog isn't too user-friendly IMO. That said, while 2020 was the year, due to COVID, that made me put this blog into massive use, I don't think that year is necessarily the year the info below was first compiled in. 2017 was also a year I was considerably active on this blog, it seemed just as plausible for me to start drafting while the memory was considerably still fresh back then. The "here" is the post itself, which prior to the update, simply contained 11 urls with absolutely no html styling whatsoever. The table below was all done "elsewhere", with it mostly finished 5 years ago, so I honestly don't know why I never relocated it onto the post and actually published it.

Alas it seem to be a moot point to ponder why while doing nothing, so I'm finally going public bahahahaha. The only things I newly did were a.] writing this rather unimportant bunch of words regarding how this post came to be, b.] replacing 5 logos (image no longer shows), c.] minor readjustment on the listing order, and d.] adding 2 entries. There you have it! Please feel free to share other social networking platforms for books that I obviously am unaware of! Also feel free to discuss which of the below you like the most, and why. I personally still only use Goodreads, but believe me when I say I did consider looking for alternatives at some point, just didn't have the courage or time to really look into it.

And just my luck, none of the sites I kept in the list went defunct BEFORE I actually published this post, but not long after my last update on November 26, 2025, one site DID, it turned into anotehr site, now listed below as well.
